Below is a collection of links that help families find their lost pets and also of other rescue/placement societies - since they deviate from our site, they will open in a new browser window.
|Lost & Pound
Dogs, cats and other household pets slip out of their homes and away from their owners every day even in the most loving and pet-centric homes. Now, for the first time, Lostandpound.com provides an ABOLUTELY FREE resource to help owners reunite with their lost pets.
allows pet owners to post pictures and descriptions of their lost pets including the location where they were last seen. Upon entering this information, a LOST PET ALERT is sent immediately via email to a combination of participating veterinarians, animal shelters, police stations, media outlets, pet service companies and “neighborhood watch volunteers” within a 15-mile radius of where your pet was lost.
K-9 Amber Alert
A newly established email list called K9 Amber Alert. It is a nationwide group, to be used for posting alerts for missing dogs throughout the USA, similar to the way Amber Alerts are used to help find missing or abducted children. Incidents will be typical of, but not limited to: dogs escaped or suspected of being taken from, backyards, dog shows, caretakers, etc. Photos can be uploaded to the list.
D.I.N.E - Dogs in Need Everywhere
seeks to assist as many homeless dogs in need as possible. We provide essential items to dogs in the care of shelters and rescues throughout the New York State capital region, and offer community education to students. We purchase, assemble & deliver Kuranda beds to shelter dogs and donate Kong toys, new collars, crates, special "senior" dog food and other items that will directly benefit the animals. Through these activities we hope to create community awareness, increase the quality of life for dogs in shelters, help save adoptable dogs from euthanasia and increase adoption. We are not affiliated with any one shelter or rescue. We simply try to assist dogs in need everywhere. Please call (518) 339-5179 if you would like to help.
